Types of Prototype PCBs We Provide
These feature one conductive copper layer on a rigid base—straightforward to produce and ideal for simpler electronics such as LED drivers or small power supplies. Due to their simple design, they keep costs low and meet basic performance needs.
With copper layers on both sides, double-sided boards allow components to mount on either surface. This setup supports more complex routing and suits a variety of mid-level products, including automotive interfaces and industrial controls.
Multilayer boards include multiple layers of conductive material. These are interconnected by plated vias, making them well-suited for advanced applications like data storage systems, communication devices, or network modules.
Combining elements of both flexible and rigid boards, rigid-flex designs include a stiff section for components plus flexible portions for custom placements. They minimize wiring complexity, optimize space, and improve reliability.
Often called flex circuits, these use thin, bendable materials (like polyimide). Flex boards adapt to curved or compact spaces, weighing less than standard boards—essential in devices where size and weight are important.

What Exactly Is a PCB Prototype?
A prototype board is a small run—often between 5 and 20 boards—intended to test design aspects, confirm functionality, and validate performance before volume production. Addressing errors or refining designs at this early phase streamlines the path to a successful final product.
Advantages of Using Prototypes

Building a small batch makes it simpler to catch design flaws before they affect hundreds or thousands of units.
Prototypes show how components interact in real conditions, letting you fine-tune features with confidence.
Iterating on small runs is far faster than discovering problems after full-scale manufacturing begins.
Preventing extensive recalls or redesigns later saves money in the long haul—even if you produce multiple prototypes.
Low-volume runs let you tweak designs quickly and verify new features without a huge lead time.
Ensuring quality from the start means fewer surprises, letting you focus on boosting product value over rival offerings.
